I recently had the joy of capturing a beautiful, documentary-style fall wedding in Hamilton, Ontario for a couple whose day was as unique as their love story. From an artsy church ceremony to an industrial brewery reception, every moment felt like a true reflection of their personalities.
An Artsy Ceremony at Eucharist Church
The day began at Eucharist Church, a venue with a charming, creative vibe and heaps of historic character. As a photographer, I loved how the high ceilings and intricate stained glass windows filtered the light, creating a magical, atmospheric setting for their vows. It is easily one of the most soulful spots for a Hamilton wedding ceremony.
Golden Hour Portraits at Princess Point
After the “I dos,” we headed to Princess Point for couple portraits. This area is a local hidden gem, especially for October weddings. The autumn colors were at their peak, providing a stunning backdrop of fiery oranges and deep yellows. The couple’s genuine happiness made my job easy—their connection shone through in every frame against the natural beauty of the RBG trails.
Industrial Vibes at Grain & Grit Brewery
For the reception, we moved to Grain & Grit Beer Co. in West Hamilton. This was the perfect fit for their relaxed, intentional style. The bride’s creativity was on full display with her hand-arranged dried flower installations, which added a modern, bohemian touch to the brewery’s industrial aesthetic.
Shawarma, Speeches, and a Special Guest
The evening was filled with personal touches that made the celebration stand out:
- The Guest of Honor: Their dog, Reesa, made a surprise appearance at the reception, bringing a burst of joy (and great photo ops!) to the party.
- Local Eats: Instead of traditional catering, guests enjoyed delicious, authentic shawarma—a fun and flavorful nod to Hamilton’s food scene.
- Heartfelt Stories: The speeches were a perfect mix of humor and sincerity, the kind of unscripted moments I live to capture.
Capturing Your Hamilton Story
Every detail of this day was filled with intentionality and fun. As a Hamilton wedding photographer, my goal is always to stay behind the scenes to capture the little smiles, the loud laughter, and the quiet, shared glances that tell the real story of your day.
If you’re planning an unconventional wedding in the city, I’d love to help you document the magic.
